TransCo MOVE Chapter is now registered!

In time with the celebration of National Women’s Month, TransCo’s Men Opposed to Violence Against Women (VAW) Everywhere or MOVE Chapter received its certification of registration on 29 March 2021.

National President of MOVE Philippines, Incorporated Mr. Reynaldo G. De Guia gave a brief introduction of what the organization objectives mainly to involve men in the efforts in eliminating VAW in the country.

Through a TransComustahan webinar with more than a hundred of attendees, men of TransCo recited the MOVE pledge while the officers of newly created TransCo MOVE Chapter took their oath.

Mr. Michael A. Vivas, Manager of HR and Administrative Department, is present in the oath taking as well as its Vice President, Atty. Andre De Jesus, Manager of Policy and Strategy Development Department. Other officers of the TransCo MOVE Chapter includes Mr. Mark P. Hernandez as Secretary, Mr. Willian L. Abarca as Treasurer and Mr. Rodolfo G. Castro as Auditor.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Vivas enjoined all men of TransCo to unite and be an active member of the MOVE Chapter emphasizing that “as men, we may have better chances of changing (the behavior) our fellow men.”

“May this be the start of our new journey to emancipate us men to gender stereotype that culture and tradition has wrongly assigned to us,” he added.

The creation of MOVE Chapter in TransCo was made in the virtue of Memorandum Order No. 2020-058.

The TransComustahan webinar also was the venue in the reintroduction of the TransCo’s Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System or GFPS logo and the soft-launching of the TransCo GAD Microsite.
