TransCo mandates the use of Gender-Fair Language in all communication
As part of National Transmission Corporation (TransCo)’s effort in intensifying gender-mainstreaming, the use of gender-fair language in all official documents, communications, and issuances was mandated to all employees.
Pursuant to Circular No. 2022-006, signed on 27 May 2022, all TransCo personnel, regardless of position, rank, or employment status to use and adopt gender-fair and/or non-sexist language in preparing letters, memorandums, and other issuances to promote gender sensitivity.
All TransCo personnel are ordered to review existing forms, documents, policies, and communications which may contain gender-biased language and revise them accordingly.
Moreover, the use of implicit and discriminatory language in whatever form, against any sex and gender, is hereby strictly prohibited under the said Circular.
TransCo’s move to use Gender-Fair Language in all communication is in compliance with Civil Service Commission (CSC)’s Memorandum Circular No. 12, s. 2005.
