TransCo kicks-off 2022 National Women’s Month Celebration
The National Transmission Corporation (TransCo) kicked off the 2022 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) with the sharing of inspiring messages from its leaders and the announcement of month-long activities that will recognize the vital role of women in society.
During the Flag Raising Ceremony (FRC) on 7 March 2022, Vice President for Resource Management Services Group (RMSG) and Chairperson of the Gender and Development Focal Point Person (GPFS) Maria Theresa L. Laranang said that the NWMC is just one of the ways to celebrate the many significant changes that women have instituted over the years.
“Let us nurture productivity and growth, as we enable more women to use their skills and talents and make bigger and bolder steps as agents of changes, especially as we transition to a new TransCo — an innovator and solutions provider in the energy sector,” she added.
For his part, President and CEO Atty. Melvin A. Matibag said that the TransCo has long been a champion of women’s rights and continuously supports all GAD efforts of the government.
“I want TransCo to become a good example to other government agencies in promoting women’s rights not only during Women’s Month but in the daily performance of our duties,” he said.
Among the lined-up activities of TransCo for the 2022 NWMC are webinar on Women’s Leadership, Mini-Bazaar featuring women-led social enterprises, Advocacy Walk, and capacity development sessions.
TransCo is one with the nation in celebrating National Women’s Month.
