TransCo holds e-conference on best GAD practices in the energy sector
Aiming to provide a venue to discuss challenges in implementing Gender and Development (GAD) programs during COVID-19 pandemic, the National Transmission Corporation (TransCo) conducted an online conference participated by members of the GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) in some energy-focused government-owned-and-controlled corporations (GOCCs).
On 9 December, GFPS members from TransCo, National Power Corporation (NPC) and Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) Corporation have convened in the forum titled “GADtogether: Sharing of Best GAD Practices in the Energy Sector” where they tackled the difficulties of implementing GAD programs during pandemic, including but not limited to travel restrictions and imposition of community quarantines, as well as health risks. Aside from this, the virtual gathering also paved the way to discuss the salient provisions of Republic Act (RA) 11312 or Safe Spaces Act.
The “GADtogether: Sharing of Best GAD Practices in the Energy Sector” is one of the activities conducted by TransCo as part of its 2021 GAD Plans and Programs and its participation to the 2021 18-Day Campaign To End Violence Against Women (VAW) observance
