Aiming to reassess the extent and effectiveness of its Gender Mainstreaming (GM) efforts, the National Transmission Corporation (TransCo) conducted a virtual workshop on the use of enhanced Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) Tool on 29 September and 10 October 2022.
The workshop on GMEF, participated by the members of the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), paved the way for the group to revisit the GM efforts and strategies of the corporation from 2020 to 2021, and to likewise measure the gains and successes, as well as pinpoint areas for improvement in the way they mainstream the GAD perspectives in TransCo.
Independent GAD consultant and member of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW)- National GAD Resource Pool (NGRP), Ms. Jemelle Zamora-Milanes, served as the facilitator of the workshop.
During the initial validation, TransCo scored 60.43 points equivalent to Level 2 or the Installation of Strategic Mechanisms.
According to the PCW, organizations are encouraged to reassess their GM efforts using the enhanced GMEF Tool once every three years or depending on the need of the organization to monitor the progress of its gender mainstreaming efforts.
