The current situation of stay-at-home due to the COVID 19 pandemic has opened doors for people to spend more time in the digital world particularly in social media. The convenience of accessing various social media platforms has caused everyone to be vulnerable, especially the youth, to online sexual abuse.
As part of TransCo’s gender awareness and gender sensitivity advocacy, the parents/guardians and teachers of TransCo’s Day Care Center attended a webinar entitled Web-Smart Parents, Web-Smart Kids was sponsored by Barangay San Antonio Pasig City and was broadcasted live on their Facebook page on August 31, 2020 (4:00-6:00pm).
The webinar aims to equip them to be web-smart and be protected from online sexual abusers as the resource speaker tackles: 1 Internet Safety Tips, 2 Dangerous Sites and Apps, 3 Strategies and Scripts of Online Abusers, 4 Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC) and 5 Educational Sites and Portals for Children.
